According to reports, Manchester United forward Memphis Depay and midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin is set to be shown the door at Old Trafford this summer.
The Sun report that the Red Devils are planning to unload a series of their under-performing players at the end of the season as part of a summer clearout.
The headline departure could be Netherlands international Depay, with the tabloid noting that United are willing to listen to offers for the forward.
The attacker arrived at the club during the summer after winning the Eredivisie with PSV Eindhoven. United spent a reported £31 million to bring the forward to Old Trafford [fee via BBC Sport], but Depay has failed to impress, managing just two goals in 23 Premier League outings.
Latterly, the forward has been somewhat marginalised by his compatriot van Gaal, with the Dutch coach preferring to use youngsters such as Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford.
The potential exit of Schneiderlin—The Sun suggest that the midfielder would also be allowed to leave—is more of a surprise, with the French international demonstrating that he could be an ideal long-term successor for Michael Carrick, even if he hasn’t always looked comfortable this season.
