According to reports in Turkey, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are set to go head-to-head for the signing of international Gokhan Tore this summer.
The 24-year-old, who was born in Germany, featured in the current Hammers boss Slaven Bilic during his time at Besiktas, and his clearly do not to convince the Croatian coach that he could be a hit in the Premier League.
According to Turkish source Hurriyet [via Goal], West Ham are planning a serious move for the player at the end of the season, and while the Turkish giants insisted that no deal has been done, Bilic will surely be confident that he can tempt the versatile star to East London, particularly if West Ham have Champions League football to look forward to next season.
However, they may yet face competition from their capital rivals Tottenham Hotspur, with a report stating that Spurs too are keen on signing the player, who had been linked to Atletico Madrid earlier in the season.
Tore made his international debut for Turkey in 2011, having represented the national side at various youth levels.
He spent time in Chelsea’s Academy between 2009 and 2011, before moving on to Hamburg and Rubin Kazan.
