Arsenal offered superstar striker; no transfer fee required

Paris St Germain superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been offered to Arsenal ahead of a potential summer move, according to reports

The Mirror reported on Thursday evening that the veteran hitman has been proposed to Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, with a report stating that Ibrahimovic is keen on a move to London.

At 34, Zlatan doesn’t possess the kind of profile that usually peaks Wenger’s interest, and the tabloid note that his wage request would be in excess of £250,000 a week, which would certainly raise some eyebrows at the Emirates Stadium.

However, the attacker coming to the end of his contract in the French capital, the North London giants would have no need to pay a transfer fee for the player, thus making him a slightly more affordable option.

Similarly, Zlatan has demonstrated this season that he still possesses the class to make a major difference at the elite level of competition. He scored a sublime nine-minute second-half hat-trick as PSG clinched the French title in record time against Troyes on Sunday, and currently leads the Ligue 1 goalscoring charts, having 27 goals and contributed 11 assists in 24 top-flight outings.

Finally, could the positive experience of Petr Cech, who arrived from Chelsea in the summer and has made a big impact in Arsenal’s defence, tempt Wenger to spend big to bring another veteran to North London?
