Real Madrid will return for David de Gea in the summer and meet the release clause in his Manchester United contract, Guillem Balague has told Sky Sports.
The Spanish football expert understands that the Old Trafford deal which De Gea signed after his move to Madrid collapsed contains a buy-out clause of £30m.
And Ballague has suggested that Los Blancos would not think twice about going for the 25-year-old at that price, as they see him as their long-term goalkeeper.
“Real Madrid will go David de Gea again,” he is quoted by Sky Sports as saying: “There is already a buy-out clause in his contract at 30million. Real will go for him at that price, that’s for sure.
“People will question why there is a need to go for De Gea if Keylor Navas is playing so well. But De Gea will be Spain’s No 1 for the next decade, that’s the quality of ‘keeper they’ll be getting.”
De Gea showed his world-class quality with another brilliant performance which could not rescue United in their 2-0 Europa League defeat to Liverpool on Thursday.
The £30m price being quoted would be an absolute bargain for a goalkeeper who has developed into arguably the best in the Premier League over the last two years.
Madrid would get that money back and more if De Gea remains their number one over the course of a decade, which is what Ballague believes is Real’s intention.
As the Daily Mail reports, the Spaniard had his heart set on joining the La Liga giants last summer, but the transfer collapsed at the last minute due to a paperwork error.
