Jurgen Klopp leads Liverpool to new goalscoring record in 6-0 win over Aston Villa

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was all smiles yesterday afternoon and for good reason: his team dealt Aston Villa their worst loss at Villa Park in over 80 years en route to a 6-0 victory. In doing so, however, Liverpool set a new team record for goal-scoring.

When Kolo Toure scored the sixth and final goal of the day, he became the 19th Liverpool player to score a goal in the 2015-16 campaign – a record for the Reds.

Among some of the ‘scoring machines’ that have gotten goals this year are youngsters Oluwaseyi Ojo, Jerome Sinclair, and Joao Teixeira. In addition, defenders such as Martin Skrtel, Brad Smith and Nathaniel Clyne have also scored this year.

Liverpool’s diverse group of scoring threats has brought the team all the way to the Capital One Cup Final and helped them make it to the Europa League Round of 32.

Speaking of the Europa League, the Reds will be traveling to Germany this week to take on Augsburg.
