Manchester United are apparently set to rekindle their long-standing interest in Benfica winger Nicolas Gaitan this summer, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Red Devils were heavily linked with the Argentine international last summer but he ended up staying in Portugal.
However, this time around they are prepared to stump up the £35million to meet the release clause installed in his contract, but Portuguese publication Record claims that the likes of Atletico Madrid, Zenit St Petersburg and AS Monaco are all said to be monitoring his situation.
Gaitan has proved to be one of Benfica’s key performers this season, chalking up ten assists and two goals so far, all from wide positions.
And not only that, he has impressed in Europe, adding a further three goals and one assist in the Champions League, which has caused the widespread interest in his services from a number of Europe’s big guns.
