Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has shown that he is still more than ready to give youth a chance by handing out squad numbers to two of his side’s talented starlets.
The Red Devils have named their squad for the Europa League via the official UEFA website, and have included young twosome Donald Love, 21, and Joel Pereira, 19.
Love, a defender, will wear the number 37 shirt, while goalkeeper Pereira will adorn the number 40 shirt.
Van Gaal has placed a big emphasis on bringing through quality youth players since his arrival last year, and has included 19-year-old Cameron Borthwick-Jackson in a number of his senior sides already this term.
Reports had surfaced recently that United had made cuts to their youth development set up, though these claims were quickly denied by the club.
