Manchester City wonderkid wanted by EPL side for January move

Patrick Roberts of Manchester City

Bournemouth are understood to be keen on signing Manchester City‘s Patrick Roberts on loan for the rest of the season.

According to the Daily Mail, the teenager, who signed for the Citzens from Fulham during the summer, is being eyed by Eddie Howe as the highly rated manager seeks to add creativity to his midfield. The Bournemouth boss is understood to be plotting a loan move for the talented youngster.

The south-coast club have performed admirably upon their promotion to the top flight, but they remain close to the relegation battle and have a tough few months ahead to preserve their Premier League stats. Following the midweek games, the Cherries sit in 16th place, only three ahead of Sunderland in 18th.

Howe is understood to see Roberts, who has only made three appearances for his new club since moving to the Etihad Stadium, as an ideal solution to his side’s lack of a genuine playmaker in the heart of the park.

Bournemouth brought both Christian Atsu and Max Gradel to the club during the summer in a bid to add more offensive menace to the side, but the former has returned to Chelsea after struggling with injury according to the club’s official website, while the latter tore his cruciate knee ligament at the beginning of the campaign [Daily Mail] and is yet to return to full fitness.
