Arsenal loan flop to be shipped out to Championship after failing to make Premier League grade

Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry could be poised to join Brighton & Hove Albion on loan.

The 20-year-old was recalled from his spell at West Bromwich Albion having only made one Premier League appearance for the Baggies after being brought in by Tony Pulis in the summer.

Pulis is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail upon the termination of Gnabry’s loan: “Serge has come here to play games but he just hasn’t been for me, at the moment, at that level to play games.”

The Gunners are keen for the German to play regularly during the second half of the season, and seem happy for him to drop into the Championship after he failed to prove himself in the Premier League.

The Daily Mail adds that Brighton are looking to do business this month as their promotion campaign has hit the rocks with a run of six winless games, and Gnabry is on their shortlist of targets.

Gnabry has made 18 appearances for Arsenal, scoring once, since his debut in 2012, and could be joined at the Amex Stadium by former Leicester City winger Anthony Knockaert, according to Sky Sports.
