GK: Jack Butland – Stoke City
The young England international chalked up an impressive save record of 79.81% and has risen up to take his opportunity after so much hype.
RB: Nathaniel Clyne – Liverpool
Clyne has not only taken Liverpool by storm since jointing from Southampton over the summer, so much so that he is now England’s first choice right-back, too. He is amongst the league’s best for tackles and interceptions with 144, and has created 45 chances for himself and his teammates.
CB: Laurent Koscielny – Arsenal
Koscielny has recorded more interceptions than anyone else in the league with 120, and is now arguably one of the best defenders in the top flight.
CB: Gareth McAuley – West Bromwich Albion
A shock inclusion into the team, especially at 36, but he has played a major part in helping the Baggies keep 17 clean sheets this calendar year – more than anyone else in the Premier League.
LB: Nacho Monreal – Arsenal
The Spaniard was not long ago tipped to leave the club, but has completed a dramatic turnaround by boasting the highest win percentage of anyone else in the squad winning 22 of the 32 games he’s been involved in. Not only that, he’s also collected a combined total of 180 tackles and interceptions.
RM: Mesut Ozil – Arsenal
Ozil has created a stunning 136 chances for his teammates this year, as well as actually chalking up an impressive 20 assists, setting him up to smash the assist record next year.
CM: Fernandinho – Manchester City
The Brazilian has been one of the unsung heroes in City’s midfield, chipping in with 119 tackles as well as two assists and four goals to boot.
CM: David Silva – Manchester City
Coming in just behind Ozil in the assist charts with 12, which may not sound like a whole lot, but when you consider that he’s missed the majority of the year through injury it sounds much more impressive.
LM: Eden Hazard – Chelsea
Hazard may have endured a difficult first half of the current season, but he was the business at the tail end of the previous campaign and still leads the Premier League in successful dribbles and successful passes into the final third in the Premier League.
ST: Jamie Vardy – Leicester City
Breaking Ruud van Nistelrooy’s long standing goalscoring record by scoring in 11 straight games has lead to the England striker becoming one of the most in form strikers in the top flight this year. Bagging 19 goals and nine assists, he truly has had a year to remember.
ST: Harry Kane – Tottenham Hotspur
Despite a minor bump in the road at the beginning of the season, Kane has gone on to notch up 29 goals this year, transforming himself from a promising young player to the next great hope of English football.
