Man City eyeing Real Madrid Golden Boy in £29.5m transfer raid

Having spent an estimated £311 million on transfer signings over his tenure, Manuel Pellegrini is not afraid to splash the cash to keep Manchester City a contender. With the team now struggling to keep pace with both Arsenal and Leicester City, Pellegrini appears poised to make another spending spree on Real Madrid midfielder Isco this January.

According to the Metro, the Citizens are meeting with Real Madrid GM Angel Sanchez to negotiate a deal for Isco to join their club. Per the source, Isco has grown impatient with his lack of playing time on the first-team and wants more reps in order to join Spain in Euro 2016. The estimated price for Isco’s transfer is believed to be around £29.5 million.

Isco won the Golden Boy award in 2012 with Malaga before joining Real Madrid in 2013. He had an impressive first year with the club in 2013-14, winning the Champions League and the four other titles, but saw his production dip the following season.
