Serie A side Genoa have had an offer rejected for Crotone forward and Arsenal transfer target Ante Budimir, according to reports in Italy.
Gianluca Di Marzio [via Goal] has revealed that Genoa have made an offer for the Serie B frontman, as Crotone look to keep hold of their star striker as they push for promotion to the Italian top flight.
In 18 outings so far this season, Budimir has scored nine goals and leads the second-tier scoring charts.
His form has led to interest from Arsenal, with Gianluco Di Marzio [as per Goal] previously reporting that the Gunners had sent scout Tony Banfield to Italy in order to watch Crotone’s match against Latina.
The 24-year-old, playing in Italy’s second league, would appear to be an unlikely candidate to lead Arsenal’s burgeoning title challenge.
However, the attacker, who was born in Zenica, and who is currently on loan at the Serie B side from German outfit St. Pauli could provide the x-factor and the unpredictability that the Gunners need to see them over the line ahead of their key title rivals.
