Red Star Belgrade youngster Marko Grujic has reportedly agreed to become manager Jurgen Klopp’s first signing as Liverpool manager by agreeing a five-year deal with the Reds, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The Serbian international will sign a contract with the Anfield giants next month in a deal worth £5million, but will remain in Serbia with Red Star, who have paid £750,000 to keep him on loan for the remainder of the season.
The move will also apparently include a 10% sell-on clause, and the teenage midfielder will undergo his medical with Liverpool later this week.
Last week it was reported that Liverpool Chief Executive Ian Ayre had flown out to Belgrade to hold a personal meeting with the 18-year-old in a bid to beat any other potential suitors to his signature.
This, though, is not likely to be the only piece of business that Klopp carries out before the close of the transfer window, but he clearly has a long term plan as well.
