French journalist calls for Chelsea flop & Man United failure to return to save Ligue 1 giants

Reputed French journalist Pierre Menes has called on AS Monaco to turn back to striker Radamel Falcao despite the frontman’s struggles in England.

The Colombian hitman has emerged as one of the greatest transfer flops in the history of the Premier League, on no fewer than two occasions!

The forward struggled to impose himself on loan at Manchester United last term, and was ditched at the season’s end when Louis van Gaal opted not to keep the ex-FC Porto and Atletico Madrid forward at Old Trafford.

Surprisingly, Chelsea turned to Falcao, and sought to bring the South American to Stamford Bridge this season to provide competition for Diego Costa and Loic Remy.

Falcao managed just four goals in 26 EPL outings for United last term, and has scored just once in all competitions for the Blues so far this season.

However, Menes has called for Monaco to bring the forward back to solve their own woes up front, with the Club of the Principality labouring to a 0-0 draw with Troyes this weekend.

“(Loanee) Stephan El Shaarawy will probably bid farewell to Monaco,” Menes began, as per Le 10 Sport, “as the club shouldn’t exploit the option to buy.

“We will now on talk about a return of Falcao to improve the attack, but nothing his done.”
