Man United target Thomas Muller signs long-term Bayern deal

Manchester United have apparently suffered a huge blow in their hopes of signing influential Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller after Sky Sports reported that he has penned a new long-term contract with the club.

Muller was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford over the summer, but has now apparently extended his stay with the Bundesliga champions until 2021.

The 26-year-old has enjoyed consistent success in Bavaria, winning four Bundesliga titles, the German Cup, the Super Cup, the Champions League and the Club World Cup.

And Muller isn’t the only one to agree new deals with the club, and he follows in the footsteps of Jerome Boateng, Javi Martinez and Xabi Alonso, who have all committed their long-term futures.

“I come from the area, I’ve been here 15 years and of course I’m delighted,” Muller told Bayern’s television channel, FCB TV.

“I am proud and happy that I have extended my contract.”
