Manchester City superstar Yaya Toure has been tipped for a move away from the Etihad Stadium, with the Ivorian midfielder eyed by Chinese giants Shanghai SIPG.
The Shanghai side are part of a new breed of East Asian sides who possess the financial muscle and the fiscal clout to attract some major starts and big-name players to the burgeoning league.
They can already boast Ghana forward Asamoah Gyan and, according to The Sun [via Le 10 Sport], they are looking to sign another West African superstar.
The tabloid report that the Chinese side have made a €33m contract offer to Yaya, which would see the multi-time Premier League winner sign for the Asian heavyweights on a three-year deal.
Breaking the deal down, Yaya looks set to be offered €11m per year, which is €4 million less than what he’s currently receiving at the Etihad Stadium.
The player’s contract in Manchester comes to an end in 2017, meaning that Shanghai either need to wait to sign the midfield powerhouse on a free transfer, or offer the Citizens a transfer fee to sign the player before then.
