Manchester United are believed to be closing in on a deal to sign young FC Zurich forward Nishan Burkhart after holding talks with the player’s family, according to the Daily Mail.
News emerged of United’s interest in the teenager last week after having him scouted on numerous occasions after they were alerted to his rapid progress in the Swiss Super League.
And now the report in the Mail claims that United have held talks with his family over a possible move to Old Trafford in the near future.
Premier League rivals Arsenal were also thought to be keen on snapping him up after he drew comparisons with their own speedster Theo Walcott.
However, United appear to be the most likely to land his signature, and would only have to pay a minimal amount of compensation to bring him to England as he turns 16 during the January transfer window.
