It’s no secret that Lionel Messi is a genius, but the diminutive Argentine superstar proved his class once again during a magical moment in a recent Barcelona training session.
Luis Enrique’s Catalan heavyweights are currently in Japan as they prepare to embark on their Club World Cup campaign.
The atmosphere in the Barca camp is relaxed and Messi, perhaps letting his hair down, attempted this unthinkable pot shot during a training session as the reigning European champions were put through their paces.

Not only are the distance involved, the angle and the spontaneity of Messi’s effort all worth taking into account, but the size of the goal is also noteworthy.
Messi’s proved so much in his career, and his latest strike only goes to show that perhaps the Argentine superstar doesn’t even need to play with regular-sized goals anymore.
Barcelona meet Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande at the International Stadium in Yokohama on Thursday. Should they win that semi-final, they will play the winner of Sanfrecce Hiroshima against River Plate in the final, while an unlikely defeat would mean they will face the loser of the other semi-final in the third-place play off.
