According to reports in France, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are set to go head to head for the transfer of LOSC Lille forward Sofiane Boufal.
France Football [via Le 10 Sport] report that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is keen on the Moroccan attacker and is looking to build on his club’s positive relationship with Lille—the clubs recently did business for the transfer of Divock Origi—to gain an advantage in the race for Boufal.
However, Spurs have also been named as a potential destination by Le 10 Sport, with Mauricio Pochettino seemingly eyeing the unpredictable forward as a player who could provide the x-factor as Tottenham look to consolidate their place in the upper echelons of the Premier League.
However, both EPL sides risk losing out to Paris Saint-Germain, with the French giants also keen on Boufal, according to the French source.
Recent comments made by the North African, who is keen to play in the Champions League, may suggest that PSG have the advantage over their transfer rivals.
“In my career plans, I’m planning to go further in a big European club who are playing in the Champions League, to continue my progression,” Boufal began, again as per Le 10 Sport.

While the prospect of a place at a Premier League heavyweight may appeal, only PSG can offer Boufal an immediate route to the European top table should he seek to move in January.
