Reports in England suggest that Jose Mourinho has identified Southampton forward Sadio Mane as a potential solution to Chelsea’s woes.
The Pensioners’ miserable start to the season goes on, and while they defeated Norwich City this weekend, the reigning champions find themselves 15th after 13 matches. Indeed, the Blues have won only four matches, lost seven and picked up only 14 points.
It appears likely that Mourinho will delve into the transfer market in January as he looks to get Chelsea’s campaign back on track and give his side a fighting chance of making the Champions League places.
The Daily Star report that the Portuguese coach is prepared to offload four of his high-profile players in the transfer window as he looks to remould his squad.
The Mirror have identified Southampton forward Sadio Mane as one of the players Mourinho may turn to to transform the Blues’ fortunes.
The Senegal hitman has found the net six times in 17 games so far this season, and possesses the versatility and the explosive pace to make a major difference for the Blues.
However, Chelsea are likely to face competition for the frontman’s signature, with the Mirror noting that Manchester United are known admirers of the West African and may also look to move for the player during the January transfer window.
