Chelsea are said to be considering launching an offer for talented Boca Juniors frontman Jonathan Calleri, according to the Daily Express.
The Blues currently sit in 16th place in the Premier League table after a poor start to their title defence and are in desperate need of more firepower as their frontline continues to struggle.
Radamel Falcao, Loic Remy and Diego Costa have all failed to impress so far with The Express claiming that Chelsea are known to be on the lookout for new recruits when the transfer window re-opens in the new year.
And a report in ESPN claim that the Calleri is high on their list of possibilities, but they may have to go up against Stoke to seal the 22-year-old’s signature.
Calleri has already bagged 21 goals for Boca this season, having arrived at the club from Club Atletico All Boys last year, and would come to England with a big expectation attached.
