Manchester United transfer target keen on transfer to ‘big club’ Chelsea

Wolfsburg defender Dante has revealed that he would be interesting in moving to Chelsea.

The centre-back—who won the Champions League with Bayern Munich under Pep Guardiola—has been linked with a move to Manchester United next summer, according to the Express.

However, the same source, quoting a quickfire Q&A with Fifa.com, has revealed that the Brazil defender has name-checked Chelsea as the ‘big club’ he’d like to play for.

“I always dreamed of playing in a World Cup for my country,” the 32-year-old began. “I would like to play in a big club like Chelsea.”

Dante moved to Wolfsburg when he was released from his contract with Bayern Munich, having won three Bundesliga titles and the European Cup with the Bavarian giants.

Chelsea may well welcome the arrival of Dante, who would offer both experience and defensive solidity for the Blues, as they look to escape their current crisis.

The Pensioners were defeated by Stoke City on Saturday—their seventh defeat of the league season—and are currently in a miserable run of form. They have lost their last three in the EPL, and were also dumped out of the Capital One Cup by the Potters.

After 12 matches, Chelsea remain 16th in the EPL table, having accrued only 11 points—winning only three matches—to date this season.
