John Terry may leave Chelsea to join Gianfranco Zola in the Middle East

Veteran defender John Terry is reportedly being offered a route out of Chelsea thanks to a lucrative offer from the Middle East, according to the Daily Mirror.

The 34-year-old is being handed the opportunity to team up with former teammate Gianfranco Zola, who recently took charge of Qatari club Al Arabi, and is now said to be eyeing a deal for Terry at the end of the current season (via Mirror).

The Mirror reports that Terry is out of contract at the end of the current campaign, and has been left to sweat over a new deal because of the club’s poor form so far.

Terry is also on the radar of Turkish giants Fenerbahce, as well as a number of Chinese clubs but he has apparently been sounded out about a big money move to the Middle East (via Mirror).

The report finishes off by suggesting that Qatari clubs are keen to start a recruitment drive for big name players ahead of the 2022 World Cup, with Terry’s signature seen as a huge coup.
