Liverpool to make £23.5m offer for superb Italian international

during the UEFA Champions League Final between Juventus and FC Barcelona at Olympiastadion on June 6, 2015 in Berlin, Germany.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will look to make Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio his first signing as Anfield manager according to the Metro.

The 29-year-old is a cultured performer of the highest quality and as such Massimiliano Allegri would be loathe to lose the Italian international, especially given Juventus face a struggle to keep hold of midfielder Paul Pogba, having seen Arturo Vidal leave for Bayern Munich over the summer.

Marchisio has represented Juventus since the age of seven and is into his tenth season in the first-team set-up and a fan favourite and as such it would take quite an offer to convince the Turin born star to consider a move to Livepool.

Liverpool are ready to offer £23.5m for Marchisio, a fee that seems to undervalue the player given today’s inflated transfer market, and it might take a bigger offer to stand any chance of convincing the Serie A title holders to sell.

Marchisio would offer Klopp a real improvement in terms of his current midfield options and the German boss should expect a decent level of transfer funding in January.
