Man United scout Brazilian ahead of January transfer window swoop

Jorginho has shone for Napoli and is being linked with Liverpool and Manchester United

Man United boss Louis van Gaal has sent scouts to monitor Brazilian midfielder Jorginho ahead of a possible January bid according to the CalcioMercato.

23-year-old Napoli man Jorginho is said to be valued as £22m and a move for the former Verona man could prove realistic given that the Brazilian has started just three of Napoli’s seven Serie A fixtures in 2015/16 and a move to the Premier League could tempt the midfielder.

Louis van Gaal successfully lured Matteo Darmian over the summer and Man United’s scouting network have identified another top quality Italian based talent in the form of Jorginho.

The defensive midfielder could offer the Dutch manager another strong option in the centre of the park and given that both Michael Carrick and Bastian Schweinsteiger are the wrong side of 30 there is every reason to consider a more youthful long-term option in this regard.
