Best manager in the world? Five who could do a better job at Chelsea than Mourinho, including nemesis Guardiola

Is Mourinho really the best in the world – here’s five who are better than the struggling Chelsea manager…

Jose Mourinho is under pressure at Chelsea after a terrible start to the season, and has come out fighting by saying there is no one else in the world who could do a better job than him at Stamford Bridge.

Still, we can find at least five who are arguably better managers at the moment and who could make fine replacements for the Portuguese coach…

1) Pep Guardiola (Bayern Munich)

Probably the best manager in the world, Pep Guardiola has not had the smoothest of times at Bayern Munich, and is repeatedly being linked with jobs in the Premier League. Could Chelsea be a contender? Roman Abramovich would love his attacking style of play, so if he came in he’d definitely be a big upgrade on Mourinho.

2) Diego Simeone (Atletico Madrid)

A superb tactician who has worked miracles on a shoestring budget at Atletico Madrid, Diego Simeone is surely destined for a top job before long, and in many ways he looks like being the next Mourinho with an emphasis on disciplined and defensive-minded football.

3) Guus Hiddink (Unattached)

A favourite at Chelsea for his short spell in charge in the 2008/09 season, Guus Hiddink is one of the finest coaches of his generation, and could arguably be better for inspiring a Chelsea squad low on morale at the moment.

4) Carlo Ancelotti (Unattached)

Another former Chelsea manager, Carlo Ancelotti is one of the biggest names currently available, and was very harshly sacked by the club back in 2011, having won the double in style in his first season in charge.

5) Antonio Conte (Italy)

A serial winner with Juventus and doing some good work with the Italian national team, Antonio Conte has been linked with big jobs like Manchester United in the past and deserves an opportunity with a Premier League club, arguably looking a better bet than Mourinho right now.
