£100m: Ten players who could one day cost epic transfer fee, with Messi, Pogba, Bale & Man Utd targets

Ten current stars who could one day cost historic £100m transfer fee.

A look at ten players who we think could one day end up costing an historic £100m – it’s never been done before, but as fees continue to inflate, these look like contenders to go down in history…

1) Gareth Bale (Real Madrid)

Already the most expensive player ever, Gareth Bale cost £85m in 2013 and has since been linked with £100m+ moves to Manchester United and Chelsea.

2) Paul Pogba (Juventus)

Linked with Chelsea and Manchester City many times, Juventus star Paul Pogba looks set to become one of the very best footballers on the planet and it would be little surprise if he ended up costing £100m or somewhere very close.

3) James Rodriguez (Real Madrid)

Costing £63m on the back of a superb World Cup for Colombia last summer, James Rodriguez is another potential legend of the game after shining for Real Madrid, who will surely never let him go cheap.

4) Lionel Messi (Barcelona)

One of the best players of all time, Barcelona forward Lionel Messi is perhaps unlikely to ever leave the club he’s been with for his whole career, but he was linked with Chelsea and Manchester City last year for over £100m.

5) Eden Hazard (Chelsea)

Last season’s best player in the Premier League, Chelsea star Eden Hazard looks a player who could replicate Cristiano Ronaldo in the future, and he has already attracted recent interest from Real Madrid, though he’d surely cost a Ronaldo-like fee.

6) Sergio Aguero (Manchester City)

A lethal finisher and world class performer, Sergio Aguero is another Premier League star wanted by Real Madrid and he’d be another likely to cost a vast sum.

7) Thomas Muller (Bayern Munich)

Always performing in the big games and winning the biggest trophies, Thomas Muller is an under-appreciated star, though he did earn £65m bids from Manchester United this summer. Still, those failed and he could be one to cost close to £100m.

8) Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich)

A player exploding into form at the moment, Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski looks capable of replacing Messi and Ronaldo as a world force, so could end up costing £100m if he ever moves to one of the big two in La Liga.

9) Neymar (Barcelona)

A young talent with his best years ahead of him, Barcelona forward Neymar has already moved for big money and could well be the next player to cost a world-record transfer fee.

10) Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid)

He’s already been the most expensive player in the world at £80m, and Cristiano Ronaldo is still likely to cost big money if he ever moves, with PSG rumoured to be weighing up a £100m bid.
