Manchester United and Liverpool are both pursuing talented PSV Eindhoven full-back Jetro Willems, according to talkSPORT, who cite Eindhovens Dagblad.
Though just 21 years of age, Willems is already an established member of the Dutch national team set-up and is into his fifth season in the PSV Eindhoven first-team and played a key role in helping Phillip Cocu’s side to an Eredivisie title last term.
Willems made 41 appearances in all competitions last season and is a very capable left-back. One can easily see why Louis van Gaal and Brendan Rodgers would be interested in the Rotterdam-born wide-man.
Van Gaal has seen Luke Shaw sidelined with a double leg break, suffered during Man United’s defeat to PSV Eindhoven in midweek, and although Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo and Ashley Young can fill the left-back berth none of the trio are as comfortable in the position as the England international.

Brendan Rodgers signed teenager Joe Gomez over the summer and impressive displays put in during pre-season led to the 18-year-old getting his chance to shine in Liverpool’s Premier League campaign.
Gomez has started all five of Liverpool’s domestic league fixtures thus far and Rodgers may look to Willems to challenge the England Under-21 international, who gave away a penalty during the Reds’ 3-1 defeat to United last weekend.
talkSPORT claim Jetro Willems has thus far stalled on signing a new PSV Eindhoven contract and this source states he could leave in a ‘cut-price’ deal next summer.
