Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand was very critical of Chelsea‘s Diego Costa for his antics during the London derby against Arsenal on Saturday afternoon.
The Blues centre-forward was heavily involved in the incident which led to Gunners defender Gabriel Paulista being shown a straight red card on the stroke of half-time at Stamford Bridge as he reacted to an apparent kick from the Brazilian as the pair continued their argument following an incident seconds earlier.
Costa was fortunate not to be sent-off himself as he raised his hands in the face of Laurent Koscielny twice in the penalty area and also kicked out at Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain later on in the game.
Ferdinand, who was working as a pundit for BT Sport, was less than impressed with the antics of the 26-year-old but also conceded that Gabriel should not have reacted in such a manner:
“Costa acts like a petulant baby,” the former England international said [via Mirror Sport].
“If anything happens it’s like the end of the world.”
“He’s a liability, a ticking time bomb. He’s a fantastic player but he has to get back to playing football,” Ferdinand added.
