Top 10 underperforming players this season: Harry Kane joined by Chelsea, Arsenal & Man Utd disappointments

Ten biggest underperformers so far this season, including Harry Kane.

A look at the ten biggest underperforming Premier League players of the season so far, including Tottenham striker Harry Kane alongside big names at Manchester United and Arsenal

1) Harry Kane (Tottenham)

With no goals for Tottenham yet this season, it’s fair to say Harry Kane has endured a difficult start to the new campaign and doesn’t quite look himself. Will the England starlet prove to be a one-season wonder?

2) Wayne Rooney (Manchester United)

Despite breaking Bobby Charlton’s goalscoring record for England, Wayne Rooney is yet to hit top form for Manchester United this season, with his lack of goals a real concern as well as some all-round ineffective performances.

3) Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal)

One of the best players in the Premier League a couple of years ago, Aaron Ramsey looks to have lost that touch for Arsenal and is now a passenger in this generally unconvincing Gunners side.

4) Olivier Giroud (Arsenal)

Not the best player in the world by any means, but Olivier Giroud will still have been hoping to do better this season, scoring only two goals and not looking his confident best.

5) Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal)

Utterly world class for Arsenal last season, Alexis Sanchez may be struggling with fatigue, but has certainly not been good enough for the Gunners so far this season.

6) Eden Hazard (Chelsea)

Last season’s PFA Player of the Year, Eden Hazard has been well below-par for Chelsea so far this term, failing to score and even skying a penalty at home to Maccabi Tel Aviv.

7) Wilfried Bony (Manchester City)

A big-money signing from last January, we really haven’t seen the best of Wilfried Bony in a Manchester City shirt, with the Ivorian looking out of his depth in the game against Juventus this week.

8) Ibrahim Afellay (Stoke City)

An exciting signing by Stoke, but Ibrahim Afellay is yet to do anything of note for his new club since joining from Barcelona, looking past his best after years of injury problems.

9) Cesc Fabregas (Chelsea)

Improved against Maccabi Tel Aviv, but it’s still been a very poor campaign for Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas so far, with the Spaniard looking jaded and unable to dictate games as he used to at his best.

10) John Terry (Chelsea)

Increasingly out of favour with Jose Mourinho, Chelsea captain John Terry is another big name looking far from his best this season as he possibly heads into the decline that will see him end his time at the top level.
