Manchester United legend Dwight Yorke has offered Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane some advice as he continues to endure a goal drought at club level.
The England forward, who netted in both of the Three Lions’ Euro 2016 qualifiers against San Marino and Switzerland during the international break, failed to hit the target during Spurs’ 1-0 victory against Sunderland on Sunday afternoon.
It is now five league games without a goal for the 22-year-old as he continues to struggle to recapture the form from last season where he scored 31 goals in all competitions and only Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero finished above him in the league’s goalscoring charts.
Former Red Devils hitman Yorke, who watched the game in the Sky Sports studios, insists the Spurs no.10 needs to relax if he wants to get back in the groove:
“He needs to chill out a little bit,” he said.
“We looked at him in an England shirt and now he’s in the Tottenham shirt and he just seems a different player.”
“Maybe he is trying too hard. He had one or two opportunities again.”
“Last year he would have passed it in, but he went for power on a couple of occasions. He just needs to relax.”
“It will happen for him, there’s no doubt. He’s too good a player for it not to happen for him,” Yorke added.
