Chelsea transfer news
With a 3-1 defeat to Everton continuing this shock Chelsea crisis at the start of the season, here’s a look at five signings the Blues need to rebuild their side when the transfer window opens again in January…
1) Paul Pogba (Juventus)
One of the best midfielders in the world, Juventus starlet Paul Pogba has been repeatedly linked with Chelsea and looks the ideal power player with an eye for goal that they need from the middle of the park, particularly with Cesc Fabregas underperforming.
2) Koke (Atletico Madrid)
Another long-term target for the Blues, Atletico Madrid playmaker Koke is another ideal replacement for Fabregas with a fine eye for a pass and the occasional goal. Still only 23, the Spaniard could be a great buy for the future of the club.
3) John Stones (Everton)
Certainly up there with the best young players in Europe, John Stones has been absolutely superb for Everton in recent seasons and would be an ideal long-term replacement for John Terry at the back for Chelsea.
4) Dani Alves (Barcelona)
Not necessarily in Barcelona’s plans from January onwards when Aleix Vidal becomes eligible to play, Dani Alves would be a great signing for Chelsea to replace the struggling Branislav Ivanovic, bringing more attacking quality and width to Jose Mourinho’s side.
5) Edinson Cavani (PSG)
Wanted by Arsenal, Chelsea should be firmly in the hunt for PSG striker Edinson Cavani. The Uruguayan is a proven finisher and has all the attributes to succeed in a Mourinho side with his presence up front, making him an upgrade on the off-form Diego Costa.
