Arsenal BOOSTED by England international returning to training next week

Arsenal have been boosted by the news that Jack Wilshere is set to return to training next week, reports the Daily Express.

The 23-year-old had suffered a fractured fibula, almost immediately after returning from a long-term ankle injury. He has a history of fitness issues, and will be hoping that this may be the end of them for at least several months.

The midfielder needs a run in the Gunners side so he can start to act on his undoubted potential. Since breaking on to the scene with a brilliant performance against Barcelona in 2011, the England international hasn’t been able to hit the heights expected of him because of repeated periods spent on the sidelines.

The North Londoners will also be happy to hear that Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker will be available to face Stoke on Saturday. The duo missed their 0-0 draw with Liverpool before the international break, leaving Calum Chambers and Gabriel Paulista to deputise. Although the youngsters did an admirable job, Arsene Wenger will surely usher his first choice pair straight back in to the side.
