Manchester United forward Memphis Depay is clearly excited about the Red Devils’ upcoming Champions League qualifier against Club Brugge.
The Dutch striker—looking ahead to Wednesday’s match—has tweeted a photo of himself and Wayne Rooney, and revealed that he is ‘dreaming’ about the upcoming fixture.
The photo intriguingly juxtaposes United’s key offensive threat and one of their major disappointments of the season so far.
Louis van Gaal’s side have appeared toothless so far this season; they failed to score against Newcastle United and only beat Tottenham Hotspur thanks to an own goal by Kyle Walker.
Adnan Januzaj—whose sole goal saw off Aston Villa on Premier League matchday two—has been the only Red Devils player to find the net in the top flight.
Depay, by contrast, scored twice in United’s 3-1 Champions League playoff victory over Club Brugge, quickly beginning to repay back the £31 million van Gaal spent to bring him to Old Trafford.
