Arsenal & Liverpool combined XI: 7-4 to one side, but who? Mesut Ozil & Philippe Coutinho in amazing attack

Best Arsenal and Liverpool XI…

GK: Petr Cech (Arsenal)

A fine signing in goal, Petr Cech should prove the better of the two goalkeepers at Arsenal and Liverpool this season, despite a rocky start.

DR: Hector Bellerin (Arsenal)

A better all-round player than Liverpool’s new signing Nathaniel Clyne, Spanish starlet Hector Bellerin is a truly outstanding prospect.

DL: Nacho Monreal (Arsenal)

Alberto Moreno and Joe Gomez are both fighting it out for the left-back slot at Liverpool this season, but neither are as established as Nacho Monreal at the moment.

DC: Laurent Koscielny (Arsenal)

An excellent centre-back, Laurent Koscielny is surely a better option than most of Liverpool’s players in that position.

DC: Martin Skrtel (Liverpool)

However, Reds ace Martin Skrtel makes it into our combined XI ahead of Gunners captain Per Mertesacker, who is inconsistent at the top level and usually found wanting in the big games.

MC: Jordan Henderson (Liverpool)

In ahead of Francis Coquelin, Jordan Henderson is more of an all-rounder than the Frenchman and should play a major role for Liverpool this season.

MC: Santi Cazorla (Arsenal)

One of the best midfielders in the Premier League, Arsenal star Santi Cazorla is comfortably into our combined XI ahead of any Liverpool players in this area.

AMR: Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal)

A world class attacker that Liverpool tried to sign, Alexis Sanchez ended up at Arsenal and is an obvious choice for this combined XI.

AML: Philippe Coutinho (Liverpool)

A superb playmaker, Liverpool starlet Philippe Coutinho is another member of this star-studded attack.

AMC: Mesut Ozil (Arsenal)

In the number ten role, Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil makes it seven Gunners players in this mixed line up.

FC: Christian Benteke (Liverpool)

Finally, Liverpool’s new striker Christian Benteke completes the team, having shown potential to be a far better player than Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud.
