Top five FLOPS of the weekend, with Man Utd’s Wayne Rooney, Arsenal hot-head & Chelsea trio
3) John Stones, Everton
John Terry and Gary Cahill both looked off the pace against the Citizens on Sunday, with the pace of Raheem Sterling, Sergio Aguero, and Jesus Navas causing problems. Stones has continued to impress in the first two games of the current season, and could be perfect to add some youth and pace to the middle of the Blues’ defence. However, they will have to fight off Manchester United for his signature [Daily Mail].
2) Gonzalo Higuain, Napoli
Diego Costa’s is the only top-class striker that the Stamford Bridge outfit have at the moment, which with his dodgy hamstrings is a major issue. Higuain could be perfect to rotate with the Spain international. However, there could be a problem with the £63.9 million asking price [Metro] that has been set for the 27-year-old.
1) Isco, Real Madrid
Although Eden Hazard is still one of the best players in the world, the form of Willian and Oscar hasn’t been great so far. If they were able to entice Isco to the Premier League then it would be a major coup, and bring another top quality creative force to their attack. He could be available for as little as £33.7 million [Metro].
