A player who looks like a superb signing, Matteo Darmian was highly influential in Manchester United’s 1-0 win against Aston Villa on Friday.

DL: Aleksandar Kolarov (Manchester City)

Much improved so far this season, Aleksandar Kolarov gave an all-action display for City in their 3-0 win over Chelsea.

Underrated by many, Jonjo Shelvey had a commanding game in the Swansea midfield as they earned a comfortable 2-0 victory over Newcastle.

MC: Fernandinho (Manchester City)

Strong defensively and good on the ball, Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho is another to make it into the Premier League team of the weekend after his role in the Chelsea win, which was capped off with a lovely finish late on.

AMR: Adnan Januzaj (Manchester United)

Handed a start, Adnan Januzaj seemed to relish his chance to impress with a fine performance capped with a nicely taken winning goal at Villa Park.

AML: Mesut Ozil (Arsenal)
