Ex-Barcelona Premier League XI, following Adama Traore’s arrival; Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United stars all included

Adama in action for Barca

Aston Villa‘s signing of highly-rated Spanish youngster Adama Traore from reigning Liga BBVA champions Barcelona now means there is an entire XI of former players from the Catalan giants playing in the Barclays Premier League.

Take a look at the team in full as they line-up in an attack-minded 3-4-3 formation.

GK) Victor Valdes

The Spaniard won the Champions League on three occasions with Barca before leaving on a free transfer last summer and is now training with the Manchester United reserves after a row with manager Louis van Gaal.

CB) Oriol Romeu

After a succession of loan spells away from Chelsea, the former Barca youth product has now joined Southampton on a permanent basis.

CB) Yaya Toure

Toure gets into the team at centre-half for two reasons, one being that he played there in the 2009 Champions League final against the Red Devils and kept a clean sheet.

The other being that there is a lack of central defenders to choose from.

CB) Marc Muniesa

Eyebrows were raised when the youngster chose to leave the Camp Nou for the brilliant surroundings of the Britannia Stadium…

RM) Adama Traore

The youngster arrives in England with huge potential and should excite fans at Villa Park this season.

CM) Cesc Fabregas

The ex-Arsenal captain rejoined his boyhood club in 2011, however, he failed to establish himself in the team at the Camp Nou and is now back in the Premier League with the Gunners’ fierce rivals Chelsea.

CM) Mikel Arteta

The current Gunners skipper didn’t manage to make a first team appearance for the Catalan club as he was shipped out to Rangers in 2002.

LM) Ibrahim Afellay

Yet another former Barca player that has made the somewhat surprising switch from Spain to Stoke in the past year.

ST) Gerard Deulofeu

Following an impressive loan spell at Goodison Park during the 2013-14 season, the young Spaniard is back on Merseyside but this time it’s a permanent transfer.

ST) Bojan

Yes, the Potters have three ex-Barca players in their first team squad. Much credited must go to manager Mark Hughes for managing to pull of these deals.

ST) Alexis Sanchez

Barca’s loss was Arsenal gain last season as the Chilean superstar enjoyed a stunning debut season in England and scored a stunning goal in their FA Cup final victory over Aston Villa back in May.
