Tottenham are confident of completing a deal to sign Manchester United forward Javier Hernandez, who is also a West Ham target, according to the London Evening Standard.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side failed to find the net in their opening Premier League fixture, away at United, though the travelling Lilywhites did see a number of efforts, only to be thwarted by keeper Sergio Romero.
Spurs remain heavily reliant on young England international Harry Kane, and Pochettino would do well to bring in a new striking option before the transfer window closes.
The London Evening Standard believes Tottenham would look to bring in 27-year-old Chicharito on an initial loan deal, although United are after a £12m fee for the Mexican international.

Hernandez has more than proven himself during his time at Man United, when called upon, and the lively forward also impressed during his loan spell at Real Madrid last term.
The Guadalajara-born marksman scored 54 goals in 154 appearances for Man United, a statistic that is all the more impressive when you consider 69 of those appearances came from the bench.
The Red Devils striker made just six La Liga starts with Real Madrid in 2014/15, but he still bagged seven goals in domestic league action, and also scored a vital winner against local rivals Atletico Madrid during their Champions League clash.
The Standard state that Pochettino is still looking to offload forwards Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor having already cleared a fair amount of deadwood from his Tottenham squad already this summer. Younes Kaboul, Vlad Chiriches, Benjamin Stambouli, Etienne Capoue and Lewis Holtby have all left, and a few more departures look likely before the transfer window closes.
