Argentina midfielder Esteban Cambiasso has signed with Olympiakos, having left Leicester City at the end of the season.
The legendary anchor man moved to the King Power Stadium a year ago and was a key figure for Nigel Pearson’s team. He starred as the East Midlands side secured an unlikely Premier League survival, and was one of the primary protagonists as the Foxes escaped the drop zone before securing an unlikely mid-table finish.
However, the midfielder, who will turn 35 later this month, rejected the opportunity to add another year to his contract at Leicester, and took the opportunity to depart the club this summer.
The club’s player of the year now moves to Olympiakos, who can offer him the opportunity of returning to the Champions League.
It’s a competition Cambiasso knows well, having become a European champion with Jose Mourinho’s Inter Milan in 2010.
