Man City told that £50m bid for assist-making machine will be accepted

Bundesliga side Wolfsburg are ready to sell Belgian playmaker and Manchester City target Kevin de Bruyne but only if an offer of £50m is made, according to the Daily Mirror.

24-year-old Bundesliga star de Bruyne was barely given a chance to prove himself whilst at Chelsea, making just two Premier League starts, and has matured into a hugely effective performer since his move to Germany.

De Bruyne racked up 20 assists last term, finishing by some distance as the leading assist-maker in the Bundesliga, and also weighed in with 16 goals in all competitions as he helped his Volkswagen Arena side secure a Champions League berth for the coming campaign.

Etihad Stadium boss Manuel Pellegrini saw his side meekly surrender their Premier League title to Chelsea last season, and the Chilean has been working hard to re-shuffle his Man City pack.

The big-spending club have brought in England internationals Raheem Sterling and Fabian Delph, while the likes of James Milner and Micah Richards left the club at the end of their contracts. Steven Jovetic has been loaned out to Inter Milan and Edin Dzeko is close to completing a move to AS Roma (via BBC Sport).

The Daily Mirror claims City are confident of signing de Bruyne, although they do state that the Premier League side are unwilling to fork out the £50m Wolfsburg are demanding.
