Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has provided supporters with fresh hope that his injury problems will soon be over with his latest post on social media.

The England international has been out of action since his season was cut short in April after sustaining an injury during the club’s FA Cup quarter-final replay victory against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park and underwent hip surgery which was initially set to sideline him until October at the earliest.

However, it was revealed on Tuesday night that the former Chelsea and Manchester City forward was ahead of schedule in his rehabilitation and could potentially return to first-team action for the Reds in their crunch fixture against bitter rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford on September 12.

It’s very unlikely that the Reds manager Brendan Rodgers will throw the 25-year-old back into action now that he has extra options in attack following the arrivals of Christian Benteke, Roberto Firmino and Danny Ings during the summer, but Sturridge is looking ready for action judging by his latest Instagram post.
