Wolfsburg attacking midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has responded to speculation linking him with a summer move to Manchester City, hinting he’d be tempted by an offer, according to The Sun.
The Belgian international is said to be a £60m target for the Premier League runners-up (via the Daily Mirror), having impressed greatly in the Bundesliga last season with some hugely productive displays.
The 24-year-old finished the season with 10 goals and 20 assists in total, showing he could be ready to make the step up to a bigger club, having previously flopped whilst at Chelsea.
Still, De Bruyne insists he doesn’t simply want to return to England to prove himself in the Premier League, and that he will only make a decision on a move based on what’s right for himself and his family.
Asked about the link to City, he said: “Of course you can’t ignore it. Everyone knows the teams. They all play for the title. That is not nothing.
“But at this moment I have not heard that there is a bid for me. If an offer does come, I will hear about it and how much it is — but I have not yet heard anything.
“I would not go to England just to prove that I can play there. I do not have to go to England.”

Responding to quotes form Jose Mourinho that he wasn’t tough enough to succeed at Chelsea, (via the Guardian), he added: “Well, that’s life.
“I read every day something in the press about me. And actually I’ve talked very little to the press.
“What happened at Chelsea is not important, as long as I can play football and I am content. It happened. Everyone is better for it, including myself. I didn’t complain.”
City could do with more quality in attack after some disappointing performances from players like Samir Nasri and Jesus Navas out wide, though they have already spent big money on bringing in Raheem Sterling from rivals Liverpool this summer.
If the Mirror’s valuation of De Bruyne is correct then that would be another huge signing by City as they look to establish themselves as title favourites again after finishing a disappointing second place last term, failing to retain their crown from 2013/14.
