Tottenham defender Danny Rose has emerged as a shock transfer target for London rivals Chelsea, according to reports in Mirror Sport.
The Blues are in the transfer market for a new left-back,who can provide competition for Cesar Azpilicueta after Brazilian defender Filipe Luis opted to re-join Atletico Madrid last week after just one season in English football.
This has left manager Jose Mourinho scouting the whole of Europe for a new signing and has been linked with moves for highly-rated duo Abdul Baba Rahman and Alex Telles from Augsburg and Galatasaray respectively.
However, the reigning Barclays Premier League champions have been unable to land either defender and now look set to turn their attentions to luring Rose away from White Hart Lane before they begin the defence of their title against Swansea City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.
The Spurs full-back is a favourite of manager Mauricio Pochettino, but he could be tempted by a £15million offer as he does have a suitable replacement at the club in Welshman Ben Davies.
