Man Utd winger targets – who’d be the best fit at Old Trafford?
A look at Man Utd winger targets this summer and ranking the six best options for the club from worst to best, featuring Real Madrid star Gareth Bale in second place…
6) Nicolas Gaitan (Benfica)
A fine player, but perhaps a risky signing at £23-25m due to being relatively unproven at the top level. Nicolas Gaitan has looked strong in the Portuguese league with Benfica, but is not a regular for Argentina and may struggle with the step up in the Premier League.
5) Felipe Anderson (Lazio)
An exciting young Brazilian performing well in Serie A, Felipe Anderson could also be worth considering for United, but should not be a priority with an asking price of £30m. Chelsea are also interested.

4) Lucas Moura (PSG)
A potentially world class talent, Lucas Moura is another Brazilian wide-man who’d be a good fit at United, though he has rejected them in the past and hasn’t quite lived up to his potential at PSG.
3) Pedro (Barcelona)
A proven performer at the top level, Barcelona winger Pedro could be ideal for United and is available on the cheap. Still, doubts remain about his overall quality – has he mainly benefitted from playing in some simply outstanding teams?
2) Gareth Bale (Real Madrid)
Linked with an £86m move to Old Trafford, there’s no question that the world class Gareth Bale would instantly take this United team to another level if he joined, but it may be unrealistic.
1) Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid)
United’s former hero, Cristiano Ronaldo would be warmly welcomed back at the club and is probably still the best player in the world in his position, apart from Lionel Messi.
