Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is certainly a manager who is willing to trust youth, and saw young signings Emre Can and Lazar Markovic experience differing debut seasons at the Premier League club.

The pair joined last summer, and whilst versatile German Can adapted well to life in the English top tier, Markovic proved something of a disappointment.

Teenage midfielder Allan may be some way off the Liverpool starting eleven once the Premier League season kicks off.

Allan joins fellow countrymen Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Lucas Leiva at Liverpool.

Brendan Rodgers has already enjoyed a very busy summer, with the Northern Irish manager having signed seven players, namely Danny Ings, Adam Bogdan, Nathaniel Clyne, Roberto Firmino, Joe Gomez, James Milner and Christian Benteke.

The Liverpool Echo confirm Allan has been given the number 60 squad number.
