Turkish side Bestikas are set to make a move for Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck according to the Daily Star.
The former Man United man had a mixed time of it in his debut season at the Emirates Stadium and is by no means a permanent fixture in Arsene Wenger’s starting eleven.
Welbeck made 18 Premier League starts and scored just four goals and the return of Theo Walcott from long term injury could well further restrict the England international’s involvement.
The Daily Star claim that Welbeck is seen by Besiktas as a replacement for Demba Ba though it would be fair to say that the 24-year-old could never be described as prolific so the Arsenal man may not be the best player to make up for the loss of Ba, the former Chelsea man having netted 27 goals last term.
Arsenal paid Man United £16m for Danny Welbeck (via the BBC), who can play out wide or in a central striking role, and the forward was totally overshadowed by the displays put in by fellow summer signing Alexis Sanchez.
The Chilean adapted instantly to life in the English top tier, scoring 25 goals, and has become an big favourite with the north London side’s fans.
