Booed by his own fans and linked with an exit for so much of last season, Gareth Bale has had a fine pre-season for Real Madrid and is surely set to become a star for the Spanish giants in 2015/16.
2) Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal)
One of the best players in the Premier League in 2013/14, Aaron Ramsey failed to live up to new expectations in 2014/15, but will surely become a star for Arsenal again this year.

3) Yaya Toure (Manchester City)
After proving so crucial to Manchester City’s title win in 2013/14, Yaya Toure ended up looking fatigued the following season as a poor City side failed to retain their title.
4) Vincent Kompany (Manchester City)
Another poor performer for City last term, Vincent Kompany needs to get back to his best this season and surely still has it in him to inspire this team to more silverware.
5) Luke Shaw (Manchester United)
A terrific young player who has had trouble with injuries and who has been burdened by an inflated transfer fee, but Luke Shaw should have plenty to offer in his second season at Manchester United.

Another outstanding prospect, Liverpool left-back Alberto Moreno was slow to settle in at Anfield last term but showed glimpses of real talent and should be much better this time around.

Struggling following a £28m move from Chelsea, Romelu Lukaku can be one of the stars of this Premier League season after hitting a bit of a wall last term.

Dealing with new-found hype, Ross Barkley seemed within himself for Everton last season and is another Toffees youngster who could really shine if they rediscover their confidence in 2015/16.
