Five transfer mistakes by Arsenal this summer.
Arsenal can be known for dithering in the transfer market somewhat, and it looks like they have done so again by missing out on these five signings that have now gone to rivals this summer, including new Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin…
1) Morgan Schneiderlin (Manchester United)
The ideal midfielder for Arsenal and reportedly a player who wanted to join the Gunners from Southampton, it was eventually Manchester United who won the race for Morgan Schneiderlin’s signature in a move that significantly strengthens the Red Devils in their potential title challenge against Arsenal this season.

2) Radamel Falcao (Chelsea)
Despite being a slightly risky signing, Arsenal could have done with the option of Radamel Falcao in 2015/16, with the Chelsea loanee not commanding a transfer fee or as big wages as he has been on in the past, and a player who would thrive if given some confidence and faith from his manager, which Arsene Wenger is well known for.
3) Raheem Sterling (Manchester City)
A potentially world class winger, Raheem Sterling was linked with Arsenal and may have been a tad too expensive, but would still have been a great long-term investment for the club in a potentially amazing attack alongside players like Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.
4) Christian Benteke (Liverpool)
Another striker signing that could have been brilliant for Arsenal, Christian Benteke has been instead allowed to join Liverpool for a very reasonable fee of £32.5m, in a move that could fire the Reds back into the top four at the Gunners’ expense.
5) Aleksandar Mitrovic (Newcastle)
One of the best young strikers in Europe, it is a travesty that there was not more interest from top clubs like Arsenal as Newcastle signed Aleksandar Mitrovic from Anderlecht for just £13m. The 20-year-old would have been a brilliant and affordable long-term buy for the north Londoners and one who’d suit their style of play.
