Bid made: Manchester United in £45m winger talks after formal transfer offer

Ed Woodward: Not sexy enough for Jurgen Klopp, apparently

Outcome expected soon after bid submitted.

Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is reportedly set to fly home to discuss the transfer of Angel Di Maria to PSG, according to talkSPORT.

The Argentine international is a top target for the Ligue 1 giants in this summer’s transfer window, and talkSPORT claims they have submitted a formal offer of £45m to the Red Devils.

With Louis van Gaal failing to commit either way when quizzed about Di Maria’s future, it seems increasingly likely that the club could be considering letting one of their biggest names leave Old Trafford after just one season.

After completing a club-record £59.7m transfer from Real Madrid last summer (via BBC Sport), it seems the 27-year-old could move for big money again this year, with £45m plus add-ons expected in this bid from PSG.

It remains to be seen if Zlatan Ibrahimovic will somehow be involved in this deal, with another report from Sky Sports today suggesting the Parc des Princes front-man would not rule out a move to United this summer after recent speculation that he could be targeted as a replacement for departing strike duo Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao.

TalkSPORT claims that, for now, Woodward is expected to begin the process of dealing with PSG’s bid for Di Maria, and that an outcome is expected soon.

Having struggled to adapt to the English game, it would perhaps not be that surprising if the player were to leave the club quickly and try a new challenge elsewhere.
